Dear friends, today we will discuss an important topic which is self-control. Which we get from God or you can say a gift and which helps us to make good decisions. It helps us to make the right decisions in difficult times. When we have self-control then we can avoid something bad which can be good for us or others.
Children, I want to give an example that talks about self-control and how important self-control is. Think of a time when you wanted to eat a lot of sweets. It is delicious, but too much sweetness can harm our stomach. We didn’t understand it then but later we understood. Self-control helps you decide to eat little by little, so that you stay healthy. Here is an easy way to understand how self-control works in our daily lives.
The Bible has many examples of self-control. When we read about Joseph in the Old Testament, we see that even when he was sold by his brothers and later became the steward of a rich man, he remained faithful to God and kept himself in control even when faced with temptation. This self-control brought blessings to him and his family later.
Dear friends, self-control is also in our daily life conversations. Sometimes when we get very angry for some reason, bad words come out of our mouths. But if we control ourselves and stop then we can speak good words. This can help our friendship and we can easily blend in with others.
Ultimately, when we exercise self-control, our faith will grow every day and we will become more like Jesus. So let us pray to God to help us maintain self-control in all our actions.
Dear friends, now let’s see the Bible scriptures below that talk about self-control.
